Why I Quit My Corporate Job to Become a “Cleaning Lady”

More often than not, my colleagues (read as: my girls) and I love to joke around about being, and I quote, “glorified cleaning ladies.” Our toilet humor (hah! see what I did there?) is seriously unparalleled. But honestly, my girls and I are so much more than just your neighborhood house- and office-cleaners, and I’d really like to tell you a little more about myself and how I ended up at Bella Cleaning.

Before I joined the staff at Bella Cleaning Inc as Juliet’s assistant, I worked a stable, 9-to-5 office job at a decently large publishing company in Uniondale. Before that, I graduated from Hofstra University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. I was the newsletter editor there; I created these pretty, stellar newsletters for the company’s members. Anyway, I wasn’t the happiest there. I was tired of sitting at a desk all day, every day. I was bored of the same routine. I was gaining a lot of weight from being so inactive. I felt like I was stuck and there was no way out. One day, I got in touch with Juliet. I had accepted the idea that the hours might not be as stable, and that I wouldn’t be glued to the saddened comfort of a desk inside a warm¬†office all day. I was ready for change and I was ready to take the risk.
