Which Famous Clean-Up Scene Correctly Represents your ‘Quarantine’ Mood?

The continuing saga of Covid-19 social distancing has us feeling equal parts productive, and completely out of our minds! We know the little voice inside your head is whispering.. “Just do it! Clean the refrigerator!”

But maybe you already did… Maybe you’ve already cleaned the entire house, twice! Maybe you can’t stand to see one more sponge or can of Lysol! Well, whatever your ‘quarantine’ mood may be… know you can count on us to make you smile! We picked six iconic cleaning scenes to represent ALL the mixed emotions right now… Because let’s face it, this whole thing is a lot. Let us know, which scene are you?!

  1. Chernobyl : If you’re like this scene from the HBO series “Chernobyl,” you’re most likely a germaphobe. You’ve pulled out the heavy artillery; you are 100% committed to destroying every single germ in your household. You’ve got the personal protective equipment, bleach, and elbow grease to prove it! This virus is going down!
  1. Mrs. Doubtfire : If you’re feeling Mrs.Doubtfire, ignorance is bliss. You’re using denial to your advantage because after all, it looks like this pandemic is here to stay. A happy household might mean a little pretending.. So keep the pajama pants on under your work shirt! Keep blasting your favorite music, dancing, and putting on your best “I care” costume for the day (no judgement here!)
  1. “It’s a Hard Knock Life” from Annie : If you relate to “It’s a Hard Knock Life” from Annie, you’ve just about had it with the coronavirus, your do-nothing kids, and the state of your house. You’re mad about government, technological difficulties, and the news makes you sick! “When will we get a little help around here?!” PS – you may be a teacher.
  1. Parasite : If you’re basically a supporting role in this famous scene from the Korean movie “Parasite,” you’re definitely one of our beloved cleaning procrastinators. Maybe you’ve been so preoccupied binging on netflix and helping your kids with their multiplication that you sorta kinda forgot to do anything at all. Your home is transforming into a mad house, but oops, you just don’t care. By the way, your spouse or partner (an essential worker) is on their way.. Better get your sh*t together!
  1. “The Happy Working Song” from Enchanted : If you’re feeling like Enchanted, you’ve been in your home for a month or more. You’re singing from your windows, talking to animals, and transforming your life into a musical! Don’t worry! Embrace this mood, because with a little imagination and creativity, anything is possible!
  1. Limitless : If you relate to Bradley Cooper’s tidy-up performance in the movie “Limitless,” congratulations. With your powers of vitamins, immuno shots, water, rule-following, and a mysterious pill(?) combined, you’ve made yourself a quarantine superhero! While there may not be eight of you, you’re cleaning and moving entire pieces of furniture like nobody’s business. You’ve given that space a new lease on life!

So, which scene represents your current ‘quarantine’ / social distancing cleaning mood? Let us know in the comments below!

Do you get ultimate satisfaction from Before & Afters pictures?

Are you an I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T kind of individual?
Did you read that word in the song styling of Webbie feat. Lil Phat and Lil Boosie?

If you nodded yes to any of those questions, you may be a perfect candidate! At Bella Cleaning Inc we strive for to make lasting impressions on our staff and clientele. Through cleaning, we assist clients in raising their families and fur babies, preparing for their first home, making the right impression, hosting for holidays.. The list goes on! Because we service the home, we are truly at the heart of the human experience. The best part of working for Bella has been the skills I’ve learned (AKA self improvements). I used to despise cleaning, but now I care for my home with no sweat off my back (it helps that it only takes me 15 minutes now!) Another noteworthy take away from Bella has been lasting friendships I have created and the ability to handle day to day surprises that arise. The constant exposure to new people, places, and experiences keeps me coming back for more. And as for stories.. Well you can ask any Bella employee; we could write a book!”

How small habits create BIG change!

Hello there! My name is Emily and I am the Operations Manager at Bella Cleaning! I began working for Bella in the summer of 2017, and can confidently say that my experience working in the cleaning industry has been nothing short of life changing.

Working for a cleaning company was an ironic shift in course, especially if you were to ask my parents how I ended up here. As a child, I was the farthest thing from “clean.” I was an artistic tornado. I left dishes for weeks, messes for months, and literally cried over having to use the vacuum. For some reason, keeping up the house felt like the worst possible use of my time. Although domestic chores we’re painful to me, I had no problem doing outdoor work. I worked on a ranch for years, cared for dogs, and watched over a lot of kids growing up. I feel silly now, not only for disrespecting my mother about the housework, but for the mindset that a couple chores would break my back! I’ve learned that we all have different tendencies (and natural talents). Sometimes, cleaning doesn’t come easily to us, and that’s okay! But don’t be fooled, it can be learned! I liked to blame it on my creative personality back then, but if I’ve gained anything from working with Bella, it’s that “clean” is a practiced state of mind. We would like to think that an organized life only comes naturally to some, but the truth is that it is a skill available to all of us, it just takes mindfulness by a couple small steps each day (like anything else!)

Bella Cleaning has taught me how to be polished, efficient, and most importantly, objective! Cleaning does not have to be emotional, negative, daunting, stressful, or difficult. One of my favorite quotes details this perfectly; “The objective of cleaning, is not just to clean, but to inspire happiness within the environment.”

Here are a couple GAME CHANGING habits to consider implementing!

Take off your shoes!

If you’re finding yourself crying about the vacuum too, make this simple change! Our shoes track in hoards of foreign bodies. Between bacteria, dirt, and who knows what else… Wearing shoes around the house not only increases our chances of getting sick, they make our homes dirtier, FASTER. That means more work for you. This is especially important if you have kids! Coax your family (or yourself) into the habit of leaving their shoes at the door. Make it interesting! “Kick the day off at the door” and encourage a positive attitude at the end of the day (the day comes off with the shoes)!
Pro-tip: Get a shoe rack, shoe shelf, basket, or trunk so all those shoes can be neatly (or not so neatly) stored!

Hang your jacket!

Another very important part of home entry? Picking a designated area for sweaters and coats! Before I hung a coat rack on my wall, I was throwing my coats and vests onto my kitchen chair. Although it didn’t make a huge difference at first, I realized that if I allowed one jacket to be on a chair, it attracted other objects like a magnet! Before I knew it, my jacket was on the chair, and my purse was on the table, and my notebooks, and my mail, and my straightening iron, and my computer, and my makeup bag.. Suddenly my kitchen was my bedroom! Removing your shoes, and hanging your coat in a designated spot will start the decompression process and ensure that you’re not carrying your work/day space (and mess) into your “not work” space.

Wash your dish!

It wasn’t until working for Bella that I truly realized, dishes never take longer than twenty minutes. It’s incredible the ways we convince ourselves we don’t have time for simple tasks! A sink full of dishes can be play a big role in home stress. When you make a meal, wash dishes as you cook. Conquering a couple throughout your evening will leave a much more manageable sink for after the meal. If you have a large family, remember it’s okay to ask for help! Encourage your family to learn the habit of cleaning up, and working as a team.

Fold the blankets!

A messy blanket and littered pillows can break a space! Think about your living room or den similarly to the common bedroom of your home. Folded blankets leave a polished tone to the room and gives peace to the space.
Pro-tip: Get a rustic ladder or basket and drape or toss your blanket. Wala! For those of you pressed for time, no folding required.

Dry your feet!

So the reason we buy a mat for the bathroom floor is to avoid creating puddles, correct? What if I told you that you could fully dry off in the shower? Yes, you heard it hear first folks! Drying your body and your feet before stepping outside of the shower is a life changing habit! Now I personally have a thing against bathmats, and that is because I have vacuumed so many of them. Not only do they become damaged and waterlogged, they also collect dirt, hair, and even mold. Keep your bathroom tile fresh, dry, and easy to clean by nixing the bath mat and workin’ that towel!

Home is Where Love Resides

Home is Where Love Resides…

A sandy Long Island beach.
A warm fire on a cold night in Colorado.

A back road in Italy.
A wooden barn and the sound of barking dogs.

A drink at a bar with the kids you grew up with.
A quiet block in Tennessee.
A family celebration.

Home is subjective, it’s an emotion we make physical.. It’s a feeling we build and nurture.
Home is where love resides.

Memories are created, friends are welcomed, family is strengthened.
To some, home is an airplane ticket to the next destination. To others, home is the last house on the block, the same one your grandmother lived in, and her grandmother too.

No matter how your idea of home changes throughout your years, we hope that the love within it prevails.
We hope to share a love for what you love.

At Bella Cleaning, we assist in the aspects that make your home. We work together to understand what home means to you, and how we can make your home dreams come true. We assist in you and your family’s goals, by taking care of one thing so you can focus on another. We establish trust, so you can grow without a worry in the world.

Call us today to set up a free estimate, you’ll be happy you did!
Xo, Bella Cleaning

Keep That Same Energy

“Keep that same energy” is a phrase coined in order to remind ourselves that when the going is good, keep the good going! So, Let’s talk about energy. Would you agree there is a certain “energy” when entering a home or office? Some spaces feel happy, stimulated, bright and airy! Others may feel heavy, confusing, and dark. You may be asking yourself, what is the energy of my home?

At Bella Cleaning, we believe that the home is a heart, and we treat it as such! Just like a heart, a home has a beat, a vibration, an energy which can help to conserve and restore our emotional and physical health (or drain it). Knowing this to be true, we take our roles in your home pretty seriously!

So, we ask you to reflect on your vibes..

Now add the holiday season and new years resolutions..

*Stress ensues*

*Butt clenches*

*Accounts deplete*

*Family arrives*

This Holiday season and New Year, the Bella’s seek to improve the “vibe” and “flow” of your home by utilizing our cleaning expertise and positive can-do approach!

Hiring a cleaning service means trusting an unbiased eye (we know, scary). Sometimes, we meet clients who have convinced themselves they don’t need help.. But, hear us out; a clean home is never about whether or not you have the ability to get it done. A clean home simply is, or isn’t!

Good energy in your home comes down to delegating, conserving, and re-assigning necessary tasks! Maintaining our living spaces is about compartmentalizing, cleaning consistently and frequently, and accepting that our world is exponentially more demanding! If you have one (or 50) things on your mind this holiday, it’s totally normal.. And we can help with that.

So, we ask you to reflect on your methods..

And stalk us on Facebook..

*Joy ensues*

*Numbers are dialed*

*Smiles are shared*

*New year is bright*

A footnote for all you skeptics.
Maybe the New Year is just TOO busy, and asking for help is out of the question. Alright, we get it. Super-moms, dads, roommates, and singles, we compiled this little list of affordable and time friendly “energy improvement” tips for you..

Remember your accomplishments, your teammates, your strides this year and especially, to “keep that same energy” in 2019! DIY-ers, we salute you!

  1. Replace your kitchen sponge, do it now! Bacteria of all shapes and sizes are growing in our kitchen sponges as we speak. Old energy, be gone! We suggest changing your kitchen sponge at least once a month.
  2. Hide a shiny new sponge in your shower, and use post loofa! During your shower, take the wet sponge and scrub out corners and linings of the tub or shower. Wipe away any shampoo or soap that has collected on the walls. Rinse by moving the shower head or using a cup, and absorb water with the soft side to avoid hard water build up. Your shower will stay in tip-top shape, no chemicals needed, and it only takes about 2-3 minutes!
  3. Pick one day a week to dust your floor moldings and window sills with an extendable swiffer duster. Keep your schedule flexible for a day with nice weather, and use this time to soak in the sun! We can really appreciate natural light elements in our home by opening all the blinds! It takes about 20-30 minutes max, and you’ll feel refreshed, we promise!
  4. Dampen a household rag and wipe down any wood or leather surfaces. Fine layers of dust become problematic over time! The difference in air quality and shine is instant!
  5. Put a festive tablecloth on your busiest table (with minimal decorations). Consider hanging any decorations you want to display on walls or shelves. You’ll want to be able to remove your tablecloth and shake out the holiday mess! 1,2,3! Easy after dinner clean up.
  6. Keep a DRY toilet brush (avoid toilet brush holders that collect water) on hand to give your toilet bowl a quick scrub at the end of every week. If you’re dedicated, no cleaning products will be necessary! Sanitize at your discretion.
